India records 16,561 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 16,561 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as the daily positivity rate touched 5.44 percent, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Friday.

India's active caseload currently stands at 1,23,535.

Active cases stand at 0.28 percent.

Recovery Rate currently at 98.53 percent.

During the same period 18,053 people recovered from the disease.
