Health tech startup Curofy forays into medical students and veterinary doctors segment

New Delhi, June 27 (IBNS): Curofy, India’s largest community of verified doctors; will build a community of veterinary practitioners on its platform, as part of its endeavour to build a healthier nation.

This will be a first of its kind networking platform, where veterinary doctors can discuss cases and alternative treatment modalities, as well as keep themselves well abreast with the latest news concerning the veterinary community.

In another attempt to diversify the user base, Curofy is rolling out a student initiative as an invite only programme to maintain stringency on the verification process, and ensure a premium standard for the community.

According to Pawan Gupta, co-founder of Curofy and Chief Product officer, “this will enable students to directly interact with eminent doctors, and participate in real life case discussions. Adding 300 students everyday in the network, Curofy has already given access to more than 3700 students from 240 cities of the country. Already 37 students are on the app from Mumbai, 35 from New Delhi and more than 50 from Hyderabad”.

As part of their endeavour to bring veterinary doctors onboard, Curofy has tied up with Centre for One Health Education, Advocacy, Research and Training (COHEART), which is part of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU).

COHEART will act as Curofy’s knowledge partner, and help in making the initial experience of veterinary doctors on the app knowledgeable.

"We expect Curofy app to become one stop solution for all veterinary doctors to access peer knowledge,” said Dr. Prejit, Assistant Professor (and Officer-In-Charge, COHEART) of KVASU.

Curofy is rolling out the student initiative as an invite only program since they are stringent on the verification process and want to uphold the standard of the community as premium one. For now students can either ask for an invite from a doctor already using Curofy or stay in queue till Curofy rolls out invites for them. The platform has attracted students from the very beginning. However, they wanted to be sure of the value add they would bring to the network.

Nipun Goyal, Co-founder, Curofy adds, “We expect to add 30,000 students and 5,000 vets in the network over next 6 months. Curofy is not investing in any marketing for both these initiatives, but is leveraging its high engagement and premium user experience to drive word of mouth in the community".

Curofy has also started to venture into the multichannel marketing route with various stake-holders in the industry. Curofy is in the process of doing pilots with various healthcare companies to step into their next phase of growth. Couple of other expansion pilots include expanding its network in Middle East, Africa and Indonesia.

Curofy has been taking giant strides towards revolutionising the healthcare industry. “The healthcare industry needs comprehensive solutions and Curofy aims to be just that. We aim to become the digital world of doctors, and this is a right step while keeping our core values intact - making a spam free knowledge exchange platform for doctors”, says Mudit Vijayvergiya, co-founder of Curofy. Curofy is now adding 10,000 doctors a month and more than 5,000 cases are being discussed on the app every month.

As per the internal statistical data of Curofy, in the last 2 months Curofy has added more than 35,000 doctors with 20,703 weekly active users who spend an average on 25 minutes on the app.  The last month statistics show that 35,168 verified doctors were active on Curofy app.

The digital health market in India is already worth 1.1 billion with a CAGR of a whopping 33.54%. The numbers can only increase from here. However with quite few m-health start up waiting for a bite at the cherry, Curofy certainly has its work cut out to become a m-health giant.
