COVID-19 in India: Death toll touches 488

New Delhi/IBNS: The Health Ministry on Saturday announced that 488 people have died due to COVID-19 infection in India so far.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 14792.

The Ministry said 12289 active COVID-19 cases in the nation so far.

The Ministry informed that 2014 people have been discharged or cured.

India is currently under lockdown till May 3.

The Indian Health Ministry on Saturday confirmed that 4291 COVID-19 cases in the country are connected to the Nizamuddin Markaz cluster.

Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry said during the daily briefing: "4,291 of 14,378 or around 29.8% positive COVID2019 cases have been found to have arisen from a single source in Nizamuddin Markaz cluster."
