Covid-19 affects all 30 districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar/UNI: Covid-19 today covered the entire Odisha with 143 positive cases taking the total count to 2388 with 1325 recoveries.

Official sources said Rayagada district, the only covid free district in the state, today reported one positive case, a Delhi returnee put up in the quarantine centre.

All the 143 covid positive cases were reported from 15 districts and 132 of them were from the quarantine centres while the rest eleven are local cases.

The Ganjam district accounted for a maximum 41 cases followed by Balasore(24),Sonepur (17),Kendrapara (9) and Mayubhanj and Nuapada (8 each).

The state has now 1054 active cases and nine deaths, seven of them due to covid and two due to non-covid reasons.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Government has released Rs 62 Crore from Chief Minister's Relief Fund as incentives to migrant workers who have successfully completed quarantine in the state run Quarantine Centres adhering to the prescribed guidelines.

Official sources said over 2.87 lakh people have been discharged from the quarantine centres.

On Tuesday, 80 covid patients were discharged from the hospital taking the total recoveries in the state to 1325.

As many as eleven of 30 districts in the state where the state government has imposed complete lock down on Saturday and Sunday during the entire June , have alone accounted for over 81 per cent of the total covid positive cases.

These eleven districts also reported maximum active covid cases in the state.

Although over the last few days the covid positive cases have been reported among the local ,the authorities maintained that there has been no local transmission in the state.
