Srinagar/UNI: Asserting that with no major spurt in the last four days and 94 per cent tests coming negative, all efforts have paid well in the district, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said people need to be a little more patient as Jammu and Kashmir enters second phase of fight against Coronavirus.

He said the administration is trying its best to ensure people in Red Zones have no inconvenience, but no chances can be taken.

In a series of tweets, Dr Choudhary expressed satisfaction over the progress made on the fight against COVID-19 in Srinagar, which is the worst hit district in the Union Territory of J&K.

“With no major spurt in 4 days, 13 walking home healthy, 94% testing -ve, all efforts have paid well. Need a little more patience as we enter second phase of our fight against Covid #Srinagar,” Dr Choudhary wrote on the micro-blogging site twitter.

“We are trying our best to ensure people in red zones have no inconvenience but no chances can be taken. 45 entry points open in 15 RZ. In case of ANY ISSUE, feel free to contact our team members, if unresolved text/call ME directly,” he added.

The Srinagar DC said it surely puts us on winning side, when community and government work together in crisis.

“We’ve arranged sewing machines for 200 women volunteers to create masks. Being made available for public use soon,” he said.

“Sustaining supplies important. Fruit & Vegetable Mandis n decentralized availability across city will be ensured under strict precautions. Police, SMC, HP&M, PWD & ADM (Essential Services) worked out city-wide arrangements. Will address every single issue raised,” he added.
