Child rights observatory and its partner commit to support State to say no to stigma on COVID19

Bhopal/IBNS: A total of 65 members from 25 districts of Madhya Pradesh participated in a webinar hosted recently by Child Rights Observatory, Madhya Pradesh.

Experts from UNICEF and Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh interacted with district level partners of Child Rights Observatory, on the issues being faced by children, state efforts and how CSOs can support State efforts on COVID19.

Dr Vandana Bhatia, Health Specialist UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh shared the situation in Madhya Pradesh, and efforts being done by Departments, and the challenges.

She stressed on the importance of the use of facemask, and how to correctly wear the face mask, social distancing and handwashing with soap to fight COVID19. She stressed on the role civil society can play in supporting States efforts, in combating COVID19, and particularly promoting services like immunization.

Dr Vishal Nadkarni, Joint Director Integrated Child Protection Scheme, Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh spoke on the efforts of state on child protection, and how the state is supporting children in times of COVID19. 

Saurabh Singh, District Women and Child Development Officer from Satna and Raghvendra Sharma, of Shivpuri shared on the efforts at district level by the department and how NGOs can support the efforts and make sure that children get the

Anil Gulati, Communication Specialist, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh said that civil society partners can help in supporting the State and initiate a campaign for creating a positive environment for COVID19 warriors, to say no to stigma and discrimination.

Members of Child Rights Observatory, will work out a plan to start a social media campaign on saying no to any form of stigma and discriminaton particularly for COID19 warriors at ground. 

As an advocacy organisation Child Rights Observatory, advocates in Madhya Pradesh on the challenges for children at ground and brings concerns to the attention of policy makers. Sunil Shukla, member of CRO, ancored the programme which was part of the work Child Rights Observatory is doing in the State as part of its advocacy for children
