Bangladesh: COVID-19 claims 31 lives

Dhaka/UNI: Thirty-one more people died due to Novel Coronavirus in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,675.

During the period, 2,513 more people were diagnosed with the virus, raising the total infection to 4,67,225.

Of the total patients, 3,83,224 recovered, with 2,539 making recovery in the past 24 hours.

The daily count came from test of 15,501 samples in the past day. With this, the total sample tests stood at 27,88,202.

Bangladesh first reported a COVID-19 case on March 8. Since then, the country has been struggling to limit the spread of the highly contagious virus.

Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.

As of Tuesday, the epidemic infected 63,664,126 people and killed 1,475,711 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles the number of new Coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the global pandemic reached 44,062,107 across the globe.
