Reliance Jio adds over 6 lakh new subscribers in Odisha in October 19

Bhubaneswar/UNI: Reliance Jio has added massive 6.14 lakh new subscribers in Odisha in October 2019, as per the latest telecom subscriber data released by TRAI yesterday.

The significant 5.5 per cent growth in Jio subscribers in the state in October is the highest for Jio amongst all telecom circles in the same period.
With this Reliance Jio subscriber base leaped to over 1.16 crore in Odisha as on October 2019, registering 34.9 per cent market share in mobile subscriber base in the state.

The rapid and continuous rise in the number of Jio subscribers in the state has been fuelled by its all 4G network, fast expansion of its 4G network coverage in the hitherto unconnected hinterlands and also the its affordable ‘JioPhone which has also contributed to the massive growth in Jio subscribers in the month.

As per the subscriber data released by TRAI, BSNL was the only other operator in Odisha to have added new subscribers in the month with net addition of 59,000 subscribers.

Both Airtel and Vodafone Idea continued their trend of losing subscribers in thousands in the month. Vodafone Idea lost 95000 subscribers followed by Air tel which lost over 13000 subscribers during the same period in the state.

Nationally also Jio continued to emerge as the highest number of new subscribers by adding over 91 lakh new subscribers in October, taking its total subscriber base to over 36.4 crores in the country.

It is worth mentioning here that according to the latest financial report on the sector released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India for the, Reliance Jio has consolidated its revenue leadership position in the telecom and digital services segment in Odisha, achieving over 48.1% market share in gross revenue and over 56.8% market share in terms of adjusted gross revenue (AGR )in July-September 2019 quarter).
