Kolkata/West Midnapore, Jan 6 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of Jindal Steel Works (JSW) group's cement factory, which would produce 2.4 metric ton cements per year, at Salboni in West Bengal's West Midnapore district.
Speaking at the event here, Mamata Banerjee said, “Development cannot take place by force, it needs to be done with love."

"Jindals want to expand their industries here at Salboni but iron-ore was a problem. There should be a national iron ore policy, it will bring about parity and ease the business process,” she added.

Talking about the upcoming initiatives of WB government for the people of Salboni, Banerjee said, “We will set up a 300 bedded multi super hospital at Salboni in addition to an ITI & polytechnic college. This area will shine in days to come.”

Besides the Rs-700-crore cement plant, a 300-Megawatt (MW) captive power plant would be built there, where the estimated investment would be Rs 2000 crore.
