Vijayawada, July 5 (UNI): Leaders of YSRCP, CPI and Loksatta parties have termed the Union budget 2019-20, presented in the Lok Sabha by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman as "disappointing" and said injustice was meted to Andhra Pradesh by not allocating funds to various projects.

Talking to media in New Delhi, YSRCP parliamentary party leader, V. Vijayasai Reddy said the FM did not mention anything about granting special category status issue. She did not mention the implementation of provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

Mr Reddy said that the proposals of construction of metro rail projects in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam were pending but funds had not been allocated to them in the budget. Funds were not allocated for the construction of capital city Amaravati and Polavaram project, he flayed.

The YSRCP leader said that their MPs would raise in Parliament about the injustice meted out to AP in the budget.

YSRCP floor leader in Lok Sabha Y S Mithun Reddy said that no proposal was made in the union budget benefiting AP. He said that there no mention about granting of SCS in the budget.

CPI state secretary K Rama Krishna said that injustice was meted to AP in the union budget. Funds were not allocated for the construction of capital city Amaravati and Polavaram project, he slammed. Only Rs.21 crore was allocated for two central universities but the AIIMS, IIT and NIT were ignored.

The allocation of Rs 900 crore for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana was insufficient, he said.

Loksatta President Jayaprakash Narayan defended the Centre’s proposal of disinvestment to mobilize Rs.1,05,000 crore. He also welcomed the proposals of extending incentives for foreign companies to invest in the country.
