Lava launches the very first 4G-enabled feature phone in India

New Delhi /Kolkata, Feb 6 (IBNS): Lava International Limited,on Monday launched the very first 4G-enabled smart feature phone in India – Lava 4G Connect M1.

Available at Rs. 3,333 Lava 4G Connect M1 is a pocket-friendly 4G mobile handset for the consumers.

Lava 4G Connect M1 combines the experience of a smartphone and the durability, affordability and battery back-up of a feature phone. Powered by 1.2 GHz Quad core processor with 512 MB RAM; Lava 4G Connect M1 would enable users to have a seamless 4G experience.

In its endeavor to make aspirational technologies available, Lava has introduced this smart feature phone which brings forth a fast 4G with VoLTE connectivity at an affordable price.

Lava 4G Connect M1 comes pre-loaded with Facebook Lite and messaging applications. The handset’s polycarbonate body strengthens its durability while 1750 mAh battery ensures longer battery back-up.

Commenting on the launch, Gaurav Nigam, Head – Product, Lava International said, “At Lava, we strive to think ahead of the curve w.r.t product innovation and the launch of Lava 4G Connect M1 is a step forward in this direction.  The launch of this smart feature phone, we believe, will create possibilities for users as they will now be able to consume digital content and even do digital transactions. Furthermore, a sizeable segment of feature phone users in India who use their phone to only make calls will now be able to access the internet; to their advantage; and that too at affordable price.”

Features like Wireless FM, Box speaker and K class amplifier for loud and clear sound, and VGA camera makes Lava 4G Connect M1 as an entertainment oriented 4G-Enabled Feature Phone.

Apart from 4G, Lava 4G Connect M1 supports 2G voice calling and EDGE connectivity.

According to the recently released Cyber Media Research report, Lava International was announced as the largest Indian mobile handset brand in the feature phone segment with 12.3% market share, based on the mobile handset shipment performance of Q3, 2016.

The feature phone market offers immense potential for mobile handset manufacturers, with 59% share of the overall mobile handset market.

Lava 4G Connect M1 will be available across retail stores and multi-brand outlets across India in a few weeks time.
