Indian Market: Sensex up by 282 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday advanced by 282 pts at 44,164.17 in the opening trade, following gains in Metal, Oil and Gas, Power and Realty stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 41 pts to 12,900.05.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 44,271.15 and 43,973.94 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 12,962.10 and 12,880.45 respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.90 pc and Small Cup by 0.93 pc.

In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.

The gainers were Indusind Bank by 4.67 pc to Rs 847.85, Bajaj Finserv by 2.74 pc to Rs 8770.20, Reliance industries by 1.94 pc to Rs 1936, Tata Steel by 1.82 pc to Rs 542.25 and ONGC by 1.82 pc to Rs 72.90.

The losers were HDFC by 1.71 pc to Rs 2293.85, M& M by 1.50 pc to Rs 705.10, Kotak Bank by 0.88 pc to Rs 1872.55 and Titan by 0.69 pc to Rs 1355.55.
