Indian Market: Sensex opened in record high

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday opened on a new peak at 53,125.97, advancing by 175 pts as buying was witnessed across the board.

The Nifty too rose by 95 pts at 15,980.25.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 53,334.23 and 53,088.35 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 15,982.25 and 15,914.35 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap and Small Cap moved up by 0.02 pc and 0.35 pc respectively.

In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while seven declined.

The gainers were Titan by 3.94 pc to Rs 1840, Bharti Airtel by 2.14 pc to Rs 577.15, TCS by 1.90 pc to Rs 3279, Asian Paints by 1.82 pc to Rs 3025.10 and TCS by 1.74 pc to Rs 3274.05.

The losers were Bajaj Auto by 0.63 pc to Rs 3816.45, Tata Steel by 0.59 pc to Rs 1401.65, ICICI Bank by 0.24 pc to Rs 679.90, HCL Technology by 0.23 pc to Rs 1032.90 and M & M by 0.17 pc to Rs 756.55.
