Indian Market: Sensex jumps 748.31pts

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping a losing streak of last four sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday zoomed up by 748.31 points at 37,687.91 on the strength of Energy, Finance, Bankex, Realty and Oil & Gas stocks amid positive Asian Market.

The nifty of national stock exchange too rose by 211.25 pts to 11,102.85.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,112.25 and 10,908.10 pts respectively.

The day opened in green, as the Sensex went up by 153 pts to 37,092.86. During the day, it advanced by 806 pts to 37,745.60, days high, before closing at 37,687.91, up by 748.31 from its previous close.

The Sectoral indices that lifted the market were Energy, Realty, Bankex, Auto, Finance and Health Care stocks.

The scrips that rallied were Reliance Industries, a star gainer up by more than 7 pc followed by HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank and HDFC.

However, selling in Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies and Infosys capped from further gains.

The Mid cap rose by 1.02 pc and Small Cap by 1.23 pc.

Of 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 12 declined.
