Idea introduces new Private Recharge feature

| | Feb 21, 2017, at 10:02 pm
Bangaluru, Feb 21 (IBNS) Telecom operator Idea Cellular has introduced the new ‘Private Recharge’ feature in its V-Topup system of recharge.

Aimed at letting customers maintain privacy by not having to give away their phone number, this unique method allows users to recharge their mobile phones by obtaining an OTP (One Time Password), in just one simple step.

Both prepaid and postpaid Idea customers can avail this facility to recharge their phones and pay mobile bills. Customers are simply required to SMS ‘Code’ to 55515 (toll free) and obtain an OTP. Instead of sharing the phone number, they can share this unique code with the retailer to avail the preferred recharge.

Speaking on the enhanced features,  Sanjeev Govil – Chief Operating Officer, Karnataka, Idea Cellular, said, “Ease of access, convenience and privacy are key to customer service at Idea. Our V-Topup recharge system provides our customers, especially women who may not want to share their phone numbers, an easy and hassle free access to mobile phone services. We hope that this first-of-its-kind offering addresses the requirements of our customers in the region to their
satisfaction.”.”

Idea  serves over 9.5 million customers with 2G, 3G and 4G services.
