Fairfax and Tata Consultancy Services partner on three running events in Australia

Sydney/Mumbai/Kolkata, Nov 20 (IBNS): Tata Consultancy Services, a global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, on Monday announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Fairfax Events on three major running events in Australia.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, TCS is set to become the presenting partner (main sponsor) of the Australian Running Festival in Canberra, as well as Official App Partner for the City2Surf in Sydney and City2Sea in Melbourne, starting in 2018.

This partnership with Fairfax is TCS’ first foray into running event sponsorship in Australia, adding to the growing portfolio of global leading distance running events the company partners with, including the TCS NYC Marathon.

Head of Sport at Fairfax Events, Sarah Young said: “We are excited to have Tata Consultancy Services as our partner at three of our major running events starting in 2018. TCS’ background as a sponsor and technology enabler with many of the world’s largest and most important distance running events and overall commitment to fitness are a great match for Fairfax. We look forward to creating a vibrant partnership with TCS to further grow these marque Australian races, starting with the Australia Running Festival in April 2018, and further create an enhanced digital experience for our runners via digital technologies.”

Starting with Canberra in 2018 we are certain we have the perfect backdrop to develop of the newest iconic TCS mass participation running partnership.

The partnership officially commences Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April 2018 with The Australian Running Festival presented by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) featuring 5km, 10km, Half Marathon, The Canberra Times Marathon and the 50km Ultra Marathon.

As Official App Partner for the City2Surf and City2Sea, TCS is now aligned to two of Australia’s most iconic running events.

City2Surf in Sydney is widely touted as the world’s largest run, with 80,732 runners participating in 2017.
