BSE Sensex opens new high at 44,729.52 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rallied further by 74 pts to open at 44,729.53, at a new peak on the strength of Health Care, Industrials, Energy and FMCG stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too moved up by 12 pts to 13,121.40

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 44,729.64 and 44,560.51 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra-day high and low at 13,128.50 and 13,087.80 respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.34 pc and Small Cup by 0.52 pc respectively.

In 30 scrips 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The gainers were Titan by 1.52 pc to Rs 1362, Tata Steel by 1.42 pc to Rs 593.85, Bajaj Auto by 1.34 pc to Rs 3288, Maruti Suzuki by 1.25 pc to Rs 188.10 and Asian Paints by 1.21 pc to Rs 2256.65.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 0.89 pc to Rs 896.70, Powergrid by 0.68 pc to Rs 191, Bajaj finance by 0.66 pc to Rs 4825 and Kotak Bank by 0.66 pc to Rs 1862.55.
