Kolkata to host National Robot Championship

Kolkata, Oct 21 (IBNS) World Robot Olympiad India (WRO India) is the biggest Robotics competition in India for students between the age group of 9 to 25 years. National Championship for Robotics is going to be held in Kolkata on Sunday at the Netaji Indoor Stadium from 11 AM to 5 PM.

This is for the first time the top level competition of Robotics is to be held in this city.

More than 1,000 students from all over India will participate in this national level competition with over 250 robot models.

The theme of this year is ‘Rap The Scrap’ to focus the use of robot for reducing, managing and recycling waste.

The competition is jointly organized by India STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Foundation and National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India with support from DST, Govt. of India.

It is an event which brings together the brightest among the youth of the country to showcase their creativity and problem solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competition.

The winners and notable contributors from this competition will be selected for the Robot Olympiad (WRO India), which is to be held at Noida, Delhi, NCR from Nov 25 to 27.

Sixty odd robot models are to be selected and nominated from this national championship for the international event of WRO, India.
