Speaking during the prize distribution ceremony of best Ganesh Mandal in 2018, here at Garkheda Parisar on Saturday evening, he said that rain has wreaked havoc, creating flood situation across western Maharashtra, Kolhapur, Sangali, Satra and Karad.

Many people have lost their lives and several others were affected in the devastating flood.

"Ganesh Mandals should help with social spirit to all the affected people, instead of spending money on 'utsav' (festivity)," he appealed.

Save further said that in the past there was only one federation in the city, as the city developed, the number of Ganesh boards increased greatly.

Meanwhile, a number of political, social, non-political organisations, Lion club, across the region have started appealing and collecting materials for the flood-affected people.
