Guwahati, Aug 2 (IBNS): In a shocking incident, a man thrashed his own daughter as she denied to work as a prostitute in Assam.

The incident happened at Mowamari village under Samaguri assembly constituency in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday.

The entire incident's video went viral on social media.

According to the reports, the man identified as 45-year-old Jamaluddin and his mother had tried to involve the 15-year-old victim girl in illegal activities like prostitution.

When she denied it and said she wants to go to school, her grandmother and father physically assaulted her.

On Thursday, her father thrashed her in front of her family members and she received serious injuries.

Later, her mother and family members admitted her at Nagaon civil hospital in serious condition.

Following the incident, the mother of the victim girl had lodged a complaint to the police.

The man has been arrested.

“My grandmother was trying to involve me in illegal activities like prostitution, but I opposed it. I told her that, I want to go to school, but she and my father barred me to go to school. First, I was beaten up by my grandmother and then by my father,” the victim girl said.

On the other hand, Nagaon district Superintendent of Police Shankar Brata Raimedhi said that police has already arrested the man.
