Former Maldives President Nasheed jailed for 13 years
Nasheed, arrested on February 22 for the detention of judge Abdullah Mohammed, was charged under the country's anti-terrorism act.
The sentence was pronounced late last night.
Nasheed was Maldive's first democratically elected president.
He resigned as Maldive's president in February 2012 following a mutiny by police and the army. This was followed by waves of protests against the arrest of judge Abdullah Mohammed on corruption charges.
