Roy murder: Shafiur Rahman Farabi sent to 10-day remand

Dhaka, Mar 3 (IBNS) A Bangladesh court on Tuesday sent the prime suspect in the writer Avijit Roy murder case to 10-day remand on Tuesday, media reports said.

Shafiur Rahman Farabi was arrested from Dhaka on Monday.

"Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Islam of Dhaka passed the order after Fazlur Rahman, inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of police, produced him before the court with a 10-day remand prayer," The Daily Star reported.

Roy was hacked to death by unidentified  assailants  on Dhaka University campus last Thursday night.

Roy's body was donated the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Sunday.

People across Bangladesh have protested against the murder of the Bangladeshi-American blog writer.
