Pakistan: Imran Khan, Qadri lead protesters march into Red Zone

Islamabad, Aug 20 (IBNS): Demanding Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation, protesters led by Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and cleric Tahir ul-Qadri re demonstrating in Islamabad's Red Zone.

The protesters have reached in front of the Parliament House.

Addressing his supporters outside the Parliament, Khan was quoted as saying by Geo News:

“Nawaz Sharif! this is last over, you cannot win the match.”

He has threatened to enter Nawaz Sharif's house, reports said.

The Red Zone in Islamabad houses state buildings and foreign embassies.

The  security forces standing at the venue have been directed to  avoid violence. The protesters have encountered no resistance so far.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri tweeted: "The present government is unconstitutional, we want to establish the national government for democratic reforms. #AwamiParliament."

Khan tweeted: "'When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.' Yesterday we took a giant step 4 Naya Pakistan & democracy."

Meanwhile, Prime Minister's daughter  Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif has directed the police not use any kind of force against protesters.

" PM just told me he has ordered the police not to use any kind of force against the protestors as women & children are in the front rows," she tweeted.

"Govt treading v cautiously & has tried its best to avoid & avert any untoward occurrence. IK, TUQ & followers must not resort to violence," she said.
