Rising Pune Supergiant unveils the ‘Supergiants on Wheels’ for their Pune fans

Pune, Apr 1 (IBNS): Rising Pune Supergiant is back with their second edition in 10th season of IPL 2017 on Saturday unveiled a van which will be dedicated to the cricket aficionados of Pune painting the town purple and pink.

This fan dedicated supergiant van will take over the city starting today celebrating cricket which is akin to religion in this country. The van will visit and be stationed at popular hotspots in town engaging fans with games and cricket trivia, fans will stand a chance to win exciting merchandise and game tickets for the Rising Pune Supergiant games at the MCA Stadium.

‘Supergiants on Wheels’was flagged off today by Rising Pune Supergiant Head Coach Stephen Fleming, Captain, Steve Smith, CEO-RPS Raghu Iyer and HrishikeshKanitkar who is the assistant coach of the team.

Amidst fan frenzy Head Coach, Stephen Fleming expressed his joy saying, “We have an excellent team composition this time and all our boys are in great shape as we plan to work in sync to take the team forward. With equal credence given to experience and youth and with Smith at the helm we are hopeful to start the season on a great note. Today the kind of crowd the van has drawn gives us great vibes with just few days left for the league to start. I am sure Pune will support us this way throughout the season”

Our very own ‘Punekar ‘ AsisstantCoach, HrishikeshKanitkar spoke on this occasion, “Pune’s youth has always been enthusiastic  about cricket more so when it comes to home team they will be happy to get their fan van.I am excited to be a part of the team again and look forward to a fantasticseason.”

The Supergiants have joined hands with Ketto, Asia's most visited crowdfunding platform and have taken up exciting initiatives this year to give back to their fans off the field.

 

This year they will pay tribute to the Indian army, urging their fans to join the movement and share their unique ways of paying Salami to the soldiers of the Indian army, which will be run through innovative digital media campaign called #SuperGiantsforSoldiers powered by Ketto who have planned the entire initiative for team RPS.

Along with the social media campaign, the team will also be starting a fundraiser on Ketto to raise funds and create awareness for the PRC, Kirkee, Pune, a Rehabilitation Centre meant for the after care and rehabilitation of personnel's of Defence forces of India who are medically boarded out i.e. retired form service due to spinal cord Injury while serving the nation. Players will also be personally visiting the PRC to show all the love and support these soldiers have received through the #SupergiantsForSoldiersinitiative.

So we were thrilled to do something similar for our partnership with RPS. It's great to see such influential people take up something so noble.
