Kolkata, Feb 23 (IBNS): Easel-An Atrayee Nirman Initiative introduced their upcoming Bengali film Baranda (Balcony), starring Rituparna Sengupta, Saheb Bhattacharjee, Sreela Majumder and others, recently in Kolkata.

Directed by Reshmi Mitra, the eponymous movie is based on a story by Bengali litterateur Moti Nandi, portraying the characters' lifelong wait on the metaphorical 'balcony of life' having lost everything.

Rituparna Sengupta-Reshmi Mitra had earlier worked together in the film Mukti (2013).

Besides the leading actors and the director, Indrajit Roy and Jayati Roy from Easel were also present.

Indrajit Roy from Easel said, “We are very proud to begin our journey into film making with Baranda. The story is very heart touching and I am sure everyone involved with this film will do justice to it.”

Rituparna Sengupta said, “Modi Nandi is such a writer that his stories have been used for several films. Koni is one such a film.”

Sengupta had also acted in another film Parapar that was based on Moti Nandi's story.

“Movies should be made from various genres of literature which will not only enrich the film industry but the mind of the audience as well," said Sengupta

Easel also officially launched the A/V logo of their production house on this occasion.
