Kolkata, May 30 (IBNS) Indebted to Hollywood for inspiration, director Mainak Bhowmik says the two "lesbian" characters in 'Family Album' were dressed as Woody Allen and Diana Keaton.

"I had dressed up Swastika as Woody Allen and Paoli Dam as Diana Keaton and Paoli is sketched as a hyper person with suicidal streak even at the moment of extreme fulfilment in life," Mainak said.

Fed with Hollywood and European cinema, Mainak had sought to make his own take on Hollywood in his own version of 'Manhattan' with two girls.

On another note, the Maach Misti and More director also paid tribute to the Karan Johar blockbuster 'Kal Ho Na Ho' finding his Preity Zinta in Swastika's role and that of Shah Rukh Khan in Paoli Dam in Family Album, premiered last night.

"It was also a story of bonding, and finding no SRK in Kolkata I settled for Paoli who was the perfect choice for that role and she proved that," the 'Bedroom' maker said.

Cerebral director and playwright Suman Mukhopadhyay said, "The ending of the film is brilliant and endowed with rich cinematic language."

Family Album, also starring Riya Sen and Anubrata Basu, is produced by Friends Communication.
