Kolkata, Nov 17 (IBNS): Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, alongwith filmmaker-producer Shoojit Sircar, unveiled the first look of upcoming Bengali flick 'Open Tee Bioscope' in Kolkata on Monday.

'Open Tee Bioscope' is the directorial debut of Chandrabindoo frontman Anindya Chatterjee. The film is about a teenager named Phoara and his friends growing up and discovering new things about life.

On being asked about his teenage, Amitabh Bachchan said, “We have had our own share of fun while growing up. We have been mischievous and naughty. Although it’s better not to say what all the things we used to do then."

The megastar congratulated director Anindya Chaterjee and producers Shoojit Sircar and Ronnie Lahiri for their new venture.

Produced by Rising Sun Films, Open Tee Bioscope stars Riddhi Sen, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Dhee Majumder, Surangana Bandhopadhyay, Kaushik Sen, Rajatav Dutta, Sudipta Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar.

The shooting of the movie began last year and has been shot extensively in north Kolkata.

Shoojit said, “As producers, this is our second Bengali movie after Aparajita Tumi. It’s very essential for a concept to be translated into cinematic language and when Anindya came up with the concept of Open Tee Bioscope, it was not difficult for us to see what Anindya wanted to do with the movie. And when he told us that the shooting will be mostly done in north Kolkata, we were immediately hooked. Our love for north Kolkata is reflected in the movie entirely.”

Director Anindya Chaterjee said, “When I first started directing I thought it would be an unorganized approach from my side being completely new at this. It’s a little unorganized but it blends in with my vision of bringing to life the essence of north Kolkata and the story of these kids growing up, falling in love for the first time, the naughtiness, everything. Shoojit da has been really supportive and he has specifically been there with me on the days when things would look worst.”

The film will hit the silver screen in January next year.
