Coal scam: CBI registers case against MP company
New Delhi, July 31 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday said it has registered a case against a Madhya Pradesh-based company and members of 36th screening committee in connection with alleged irregularities in the coal blocks allocation scam.
"The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on charges of criminal conspiracy & criminal misconduct under section 120 B and 13 (1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of PC Act 1988 against Satna (Madhya Pradesh) based private company & its Directors; Members of 36th Screening Committee & others in the allocation of Thesgora B/ Rudrapuri Coal Block," the CBI said in a statement.
"It has been alleged that Screening Committee deliberately did not follow the guidelines and shown undue favour to the company," the probe agency said.
The CBI said searches were conducted at Indore and Satna in Madhya Pradesh in connection with the matter.
Investigation will continue into the matter.
