Corporates in Kolkata join rest of India on Yoga Day

Kolkata, June 21 (IBNS) Industry captains, representatives from member companies, Yi Executive Committee members and their families assembled, limbered up and did yoga workouts under the aegis of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern India on the World Yoga Day on Sunday.
And they got refreshed and rejuvenated in the process.

On the occasion, a special yoga session was organized by CII Eastern Region at the Suresh Neotia Centre of Excellence for Leadership at Salt Lake in Kolkata where
trainers from ISHA Foundation explain through both live demonstrations and video clippings how a few minutes of yoga exercises a day can make a world of difference in the way we feel, work, think and perform.

In all about 150 participants showed up and joined the yoga session organized by CII Eastern Region.

The aim was to integrate body and mind and enable one to be at peace with oneself, reduce stress, experience happiness and enhance productivity in all spheres of life, said Rear Admiral (Retired) A K Verma, Chairman, CII Eastern Region, in his introductory speech.

“Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about mere exercise of body and muscles but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature,” he said.

The notable participants at the yoga session were Ms Pallavi Kaul, Chairperson, CII West Bengal State Council; Mr Ravi Todi, Member CII Eastern Regional Council; Mr Gopi More, Member CII Eastern Regional Council; and Mr Dipankar Chakrabarti, Member CII Eastern Regional Council; Mr Surajit Sen, Regional HR Head, ACC, Member, CII ER
Sub-Committee on IR, and Mr Sanjay Diwakar, Senior Vice President, KPMG, CII Eastern Region Task Force on Taxation Matters and Governance, and Mr Surendra Thapa, Deputy Consul General of Nepal in Kolkata, and Dr Saugat Mukherjee, Regional Director, CII Eastern Region.
