Suzlon Foundation installs solar lights at welfare hostels in Andhra's Anantapur
A total of 76 solar powered lights were installed in six welfare hostels at Uravakonda, Vajrakarur and Konakondla, benefiting around 700 students living in these hostels.
Aligned with Suzlon foundation’s zero darkness initiative, the installations of solar lights has helped students to receive uninterrupted power supply during study hours, thereby, providing an enabling environment for students to study and improve their learning capacity. The solar lights have been installed in the study rooms, study corridor and living rooms of the hostels.
Dr. Jasmine Sofia Gogia, General Manager, Suzlon Foundation said, “Suzlon Foundation is committed to brighten up lives of community members in its neighbourhood areas. It is our constant endeavour to align our CSR programmes to the requirements of local communities and solar light installation initiative is another step in that direction. This activity aims to provide a conducive environment for the education of students and help them excel in the academics. Suzlon Foundation strives to create a sustainable life for communities where we operate and we will continue to support many such initiatives which are sustainable and beneficial to the society at large. ”
