Golf Club Road Durga Puja Committee wins the first ever IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016

Kolkata, Sept 30 (IBNS): IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016 brought forth this year’s first ever and the most creative awards segment on Durga Puja.

The Press meet to announce the winners was held at Urbana 783,Anandpur Road, Bengal NRI Complex Ltd. East Kolkata Township Project, Kolkata-700107.

The initiative, undertaken by the prestigious IIMC, International Institute of Media & Communication (Annex and Candid Venture) and powered by Urbana, the tallest residential complex ever built in Kolkata near Ruby Crossing, was on the best Social Media Campaign by Durga Puja Organizations of the city.

Putting an exciting end to the initiative the following Puja Organizations were announced as the winners:

·         Golf Club Road Durga Puja Committee, Winner

·         Sahapur Panchabatitala Sammillani, First Runner-up

·    Keshtopur Prafulla Kanan (Poschim) Adhibasi Brinda,  Second Runner-up

The event was attended and judged by some of the prominent personalities of the city, which included Alokananda Roy- the cultural icon of Bengal, Surojit Chatterjee- a singer, lyricist, composer, music arranger and music director, Siddhartha Sankar Ray “SIDHU” -renowned singer, DJ Akash who is an internationally acclaimed DJ with a passion for music which is infectious, Indroneel Mukherjee fashion Designer who has his own distinct style on the world of fashion and Lopamudra Mandal Saha-Fashion Designer-Curator-social worker.

Debuting this year IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016 honored the best Durga Puja Committee on Social Media platform that covered all the creative aspects of digital promotion starting from the concept, and creativity to the implementation and the number of page likes to the Best Integrated (cross platform) Social Media Campaign. This contest witnessed the whopping of 500 entries from all over West Bengal.

IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016 took the first lead to reward and encourage that Durga Puja Committee which had taken the first move towards the Digital Media by successfully using information, communication and technology in integrating people, social media and data to achieve future transformation and growth.

The judging category divided into five segments included Page likes, Pass Comments, Frequency of updates, look and feel of the page and overall impact of the page. Each category had three awards entitled. The judgment was based on- Judges Choice and People’s Choice.

The trophies would be handed over to the winning Durga Puja Committees on 3rd October 2016 by the Jury members of  IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016.

Speaking at the occasion Debjani Mookherjee, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales, Urbana BNRI Complex said, “Urbana is set to extent all its helping hands for this grooming segment of Media. Being a part of the cultural city and in this auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, we feel privileged to witness and be an integral part of the first ever Digital Impact Awards. Let us join our hands with this magnetic media field of today. Let the IIMC Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards 2016 set a landmark in the field of Digitization.”
