Neeta Lulla presents Lakme Salon Bridal Show at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015

Mumbai, Aug 31 (IBNS): Bridal couture in India breaks free as bridal experts from Lakme Salon along with ace bridal designer Neeta Lulla presented a Bridal Show at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter / Festive 2015.
A symphony of bridal hair, makeup and ensemble was presented in 5 exquisite themes and 25 distinct looks.

The thoughtfully crafted collection which included looks that can be worn on occasions leading up to the big day such as the engagement, sangeet and pre-parties, will be exclusively available at 150 Lakmé Salons across India.

The five themes brought alive by the fusion of hair, makeup and the ensemble were: Vintage, Glam, Traditional, Sculpt and Nature.

The show transported the audience back into time – the 1920’s 1930’s and onto the 1970’s and recreated looks inspired by the Great Gatsby and Flapper girl era as well as the Art Deco times. To match the exotic creations three makeup directions – Victorian Blush, Classic Allure and Retro Diva looked stunning on the ramp. Shades of powder moved from pink to muted peach and soft green, while the hair styles matched with top of the crown chignons for an elegant profile.

The gorgeous outfits were inspired by Indian temples and traditional arts. Adding to the grandeur of the garments were three majestic looks – Rooted Beauty, Princess Royale and Ethnic Charm, that brought to life the temple flavour. Ruby red, royal pink, midnight blue and golden yellow shimmered on the ramp as the models floated in with double edged eyes, balanced with matte lips.

The smoky look for eyes had strong red lips but it was the hairstyles with flowers and braids that will turn the blushing bride into an elegant diva.

The palaces of Jaipur’s ornate arches and patterns were Neeta’s inspirations for the luxurious ensembles. Royal Matte, Defined Diva and Chiseled Pout were the three makeup directions to make the bride a vision of beauty. Defined eyebrows on sculpted faces with monochrome eyes and hairstyles in deep flat waves completed the look.

Bringing the bride under the spotlight, the Lakmé Salon experts along with Neeta Lulla turned her into a glitzy glamazon. Bronze Bling, Runway Shimmer and Sublime Stardust ensured that shimmering gold eyes and glitter dusted hair matched the golden metallic Swarovski theme.

For this segment the inspiration was Mother Nature that helped to create a feminine sensuous vision. Makeup moved from Bohemian Dream, Floral Fantasy to Aqua Illusion, where flowers, leaves, peacock feathers and pearls added to the makeup. A clear skin with neutral lips was balanced by angelic flowing hair that took bridal glamour many notches up the fashion and beauty ladder.

The show opened with none other than Neeta’s daughter and real bride herself; Nishka Lulla, and closed with Telegu and Tamil beauty Tamannaah Bhatia. Created for the "New age woman,” that dare to be different, the show also witnessed 3 winners from the KNOW –YOUR- BRIDAL- STYLE” quiz - Raagini Kanwal from Ludhiana, Shubhra Jain from Kanpur and Mariya Abuwala from Bangalore, who won the opportunity to walk the ramp for this spectacular show.

These gorgeous looks from the runway will be brought to over 150 Lakmé Salons in 70 plus cities, giving brides-to-be a chance to achieve the perfect bridal look on not only her big day, but all other occasions leading up to the grand wedding.

At the event, Shailesh Moolya, National Creative Director, Hair at Lakmé Salons stated “Lakmé Salon is the go-to fashionable address for brides-to-be seeking the latest in professional hair and beauty services. This season at the Lakmé Salon Bridal Show, hairstyles are edgy but fuss free, with a sensuous edge that includes a range of elegant updos and loose curls.”

Sushma Khan, National Creative Director, Makeup at Lakmé Salons said, “We understand the needs of today’s bride who wants to look different on each of her wedding functions. This season, through a colour palette that varies from subtle peaches and pinks to bold reds and berry shades, Lakmé Salon experts provide a contemporary spin on all things traditional.”

On her association with Lakmé Salon for this season’s collection Neeta Lulla added, “I am extremely delighted to have been a part of Lakmé Salon’s first ever Bridal Show. Together we have created a collection of looks to suit different genres of brides and their sensibilities alike. Lakmé Salon and I share the belief that the perfect bridal look is a combination of great hair and makeup and an ensemble that creates the look needed in its entirety.”
