Kolkata: Primary TET postponed to Oct 11

Kolkata, Aug 31 (IBNS): The West Bengal government on Monday postponed the Primary Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) examination to Oct 11, which was scheduled for Oct 4, officials said.

After a meeting with West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee, the chief secretary Sanjay Mitra announced it officially through a press conference here at state's main administrative headquarter Nabanna on Monday.

Sanjay Mitra said, "Election in few municipalities will be held on October 3 and few government jobs' examinations is scheduled on Oct 4. So, we have decided to postpone Primary TET exam to Oct 11."

The exam was earlier scheduled on Aug 30 and was postponed to Oct 4, after the disappearance of two packets of question papers.

State's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started its investigation into the question papers missing case.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS)- Main exam is scheduled on Oct 11.
