India will be the factory of the future in AI era, says Dassault Systemes CEO Pascal Daloz
New Delhi: India is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the world’s future by combining innovation, imagination, and a skilled workforce, Dassault Systemes Chief Executive Officer Pascal Daloz said on Wednesday.
“India will become the factory of the future with its software-defined economy, and intellectual property will be the new currency in the age of AI,” Daloz said at an event in Bengaluru, according to a Business Standard report.
The French software company, which develops technology solutions for automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors, has been ramping up its presence in India over the past few years.
Dassault Systemes has set a revenue target of $1 billion from India by 2030 and plans to have 25% of its global workforce based in the country.
Dassault expands R&D operations in India
Earlier this week, Dassault Systemes inaugurated its new state-of-the-art R&D campus in Pune — now its largest facility in India and a key hub within its global innovation network.
“India is one of the most innovative nations. Dassault has invested over €100 million to expand its R&D laboratory in Pune and increase capacity by nearly 50 per cent,” Daloz said, according to the report.
He praised India’s engineering talent, noting the country’s ability to “compete globally at low cost while delivering high quality,” supported by the large number of engineering graduates joining the workforce each year.
Innovation-led growth and digital transformation
In India, Dassault’s revenue is primarily driven by the transportation and mobility segment, followed by industrial equipment.
The company also collaborates with several state governments on initiatives in skill development, project management systems, and “virtual twin city” programmes — which use digital replication and simulation technologies to improve urban planning.
“Virtual twins are the way to explore the future,” Daloz said, emphasising Dassault’s commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence, data, and design to drive industrial and economic transformation.
