India Blooms News Service

Minneapolis, Oct 25 (IBNS) United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission, South Dakota man charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and aiding and abetting was sentenced on October 22 by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange.

Travis Creig Lewis, a/k/a Travis Farmer, age 19, was sentenced to 42 months in custody, three years of supervised release, $1,000 in restitution, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

Lewis was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 8, 2011, and pled guilty to the charge on July 30, 2012.

The conviction stems from an incident that took place on October 12, 2011, when Lewis was involved in aiding and abetting the beating of a man, who was beaten with a bat and shod feet.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher.

Lewis was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
