Never called Ponting selfish: Border
Melbourne, Nov 18 : Former Australian captain and Director of Board in Cricket Australia Allan Border has refused to withdraw his view that Ricky Ponting erred on the penultimate day of fourth and final Test against India in Nagpur but strongly denied saying that the skipper had been selfish.
"I don't know where he (Ponting) is getting his information from," Border was quoted as saying by 'Inside Cricket'.
"We never really talked about it being a personal decision, we were just in commentary and we disagreed with the tactics that were being employed. It was as plain and simple as that. There was never any inference about Ricky Ponting making those decisions on a personal level. Certainly there was talk about that, from different journalists or from Indian papers," Ponting told a news agency. |
