The Prince of Kolkata emulated Sir Donald Bardman when he was dismissed for zero in his last Test innings here today.

Australia's Sir Donald Bradman had got out without making a single run in his last Test innings when he was clean bowled by W E Hollies in his career's last innings at Oval on August 1948 against England.

If he would have made four runs in that innings his average would have been exactly 100.

Ganguly, who has already announced his retirement and was playing his last innings today, was caught and bowled by debutant off-spinner Jason Krejza without opening his account.

Ganguly tried to turn Krejza to the leg-side but managed only to get a leading edge which went straight back to the bowlwer who took the catch.

That dismissal ended a remarkable career. The former India captain, who scored 85 in the first innings, finished with a tally of 7,212 runs in 113 Tests, inclusive of 16 centuries and 35 half-centuries.

Ganguly led the country in 49 Tests, out of which he was on the winning side in 21 matches making him the most successful captain of India.
