BCCI clarifies PCB 'ticket' issue

India Blooms News Service

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday clarified media reports that said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) 'is awaiting 3,000 tickets' that were promised to it by the Indian cricket board for the upcoming Airtel T20 International and ODI series between Indian and Pakistan and said some tickets have already been dispatched to the neighbouring nation.

"This is with reference to media reports stating that the PCB is awaiting the 3,000 tickets promised to it by the BCCI for the India-Pakistan AIRTEL T20 International and ODI series 2012-13," said BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale in a statement.

"We wish to clarify that the PCB had asked for 500 tickets each for their fans at Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata, and 1,000 tickets for Delhi," he said.

"The PCB subsequently informed the BCCI that they do not require any tickets for Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, and they have asked for only 25 tickets each for Chennai and Kolkata respectively, which have been sent to them on 18 December 2012," Jagdale said.

"As far as the tickets for Delhi are concerned, we are awaiting the delivery of tickets by the DDCA, and they will be sent to the PCB as soon as they are received from the DDCA," he said.

India and Pakistan will be playing two T20 Internationals and three ODIs, from Dec 25 to Jan 6 in the Airtel 2012-13 series.
