Ross Taylor remained the top scorer for New Zealand with his 62 runs. He hit three boundaries and three sixes in the match.
Sunil Narine picked up three wickets for West Indies by giving away 20 runs in his 4 overs.
Earlier, West Indies were all out at 139 runs.
Chris Gayle top scored for West India with his 30 runs off 14 balls.
Doug Bracewell and Tim Southee picked up three wickets each for New Zealand.
