Pakistan: 17 killed in car bomb blast

Peshawar, Dec 17 (IBNS): At least 17 people were killed in a car bomb blast in northwest Pakistan’s Khyber Agency area on Monday, media reports said.


The blast occurred at a market in Jamrud town.

According to reports, women and children were killed in the blast that injured 50 others.

"At least seventeen people have been killed and fifty others injured in a blast in Khyber Agency on Monday," Geo News reported.

"The explosives were planted in a vehicle parked near the market area," it said.

Around 10-12 vehicles that were parked near the area were destroyed in the blast.

The injured people were taken to different hospitals in Peshawar city, media reports said.

Security forces have cordoned off the area.

No terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
