Jaipur, Mar 19 (IBNS): At least two BJP MLAs were injured in a scuffle in Rajasthan Assembly on Friday as marshals grappled with the Opposition legislators to evict the suspended BJP chief whip from the House.
The Opposition parties had resumed their overnight dharna in front of the Speaker, Dipender Singh Shekhawat, demanding withdrawal of suspension of BJP chief whip RS Rathore and another party MLA Hanuman Beliwal.
When the House met for the day on Friday, Rathore was present in theAssembly and the Speaker asked the deputy leader, GS Tiwari, to send the ‘stranger’ outside, in an apparent reference to Rathore.
But as Rathore refused to go, the Speaker called in the marshals to evict him.
The BJP, along with other Opposition members, shielded Rathore and the marshals had to jostle their way to reach Rathore.
In the bedlam, BJP MLA Bahadur Singh Koli received minor injury in his finger and leg, while another legislator Gulab Chand Kataria complained of chest pain.
The House was adjourned for an hour amid the uproar.
On Thursday, Rathore was suspended for one year and party MLA Beliwal till the end of the current session for their ‘unruly behaviour’ and stalling the proceedings.
