Kolkata, Feb 1 (IBNS) India and China have enough space to develop together, said Mao Siwei, Consul General of China in Kolkata.
"I believe that the world has enough space for China and India, the two largest developing countries, to develop together,” said Siwei at the inauguration of Pavilion, China, and introducing The School of Chinese Language, at Kolkata Book Fair 2010.
“The demand-driven growth of the importance of studying Chinese Language cannot be doubted. In every field, whether it be business, imports/exports, culture, history, science, research, education, there is and will be enhanced cooperation between our two countries. To take advantage of the situation, to be more successful in the future, it is essential that your younger generation learn Chinese Language,” Siwei said.
The School of Chinese Language in Kolkata, started by Madan Saraff, is a non-profit endeavour to create an understanding between the peoples of India & China.
The School of Chinese Language was inaugurated on July 16, 2008. The institution also started The Chini Adda on Jan 23, 2009, for developing communication skills among Chinese and Chinese-speaking Indians.
