Mumbai, Nov 17 (IBNS): Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Saturday said party chief Bal Thackeray is fighting ill health like a warrior, indicating that their leader is recovering even though no official medical bulletin was given since the Sena patriarch fell ill seriously.

In a frontpage news Saturday, Saamna, which is published in Marathi language, said: "Our warrior is combating."

The paper said good wishes for his health are pouring in from across Maharashtra for the Sena chief.

It said he is being treated by doctors of Lilavati Hospital along with Sena leader and MLA Deepak Sawant, who is a doctor.

However, reports said Shiv Sena corporators are also meeting on Saturday (scheduled at 11 am) to assess the situation.

Earlier on Friday the Shiv Sena on Friday said the party supremo's condition is improving.

Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi told media: "Balasaheb is showing a lot of improvement and is recovering."

He requested people 'not to trust rumours and create panic'.

Late on Thursday night, the party's working president Uddhav Thackeray, spoke to party activists outside the ailing chief's house in Bandra.

"Balasaheb's condition is stable and his health is improving," he had said.

From Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, to even Shah Rukh Khan, who had a run-in with Shiv Sena over a film release and comments on Pakistan, stars, politicians and celebrities kept pouring in at Matoshree. Some of the surprise visitors are also from the Congress camp and former President Pratibha Patil was among those who had visited him.

A heavy presence of police and rapid action force continues to remain outside Thackeray's house, and other parts of the city.

The Centre has provided additional security forces to Maharashtra to assist the local administration in maintaining law and order.
