Mumbai, Nov 13 (IBNS): The police on Tuesday said they have arrested a person for allegedly making a hoax bomb call that stranded a Delhi-bound GoAir flight for hours at the Mumbai airport on Saturday.
One Sandeep Menon made the call in order to stop his business partner Ambrish Parikh from leaving the city, the police said.
Menon, who was arrested on Monday, called up the GoAir office in Mumbai and said a passenger in a Mumbai-Delhi GoAir flight was carrying explosives, reports said.
Menon told the police that disputes occurred between him and Parikh over the issue of training students for the IIT entrance examination after they got a contract from Oman.
The bomb scare on the Delhi-bound GoAir flight created panic and the plane was taken to the isolation bay of the Mumbai airport on Saturday.
The GoAir flight Number 343 was preparing to take off when a message of a bomb inside the craft led to offloading of all passengers.
The Air Traffic Control alerted the pilot and the plane was taken to the isolation bay.
