New Delhi, Dec 8 (IBNS) Zee Group chairman Subhash Chandra on Saturday appeared before the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for interrogation regarding an extortion case against two Zee News journalists filed by Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal.

Chandra, along with his lawyers, came to the Crime Branch office in Chanakyapuri for questioning.

On Monday, he was issued a notice to face interrogation.

A Delhi court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to Chandra and his son till Dec 14 in the case.

The court on Monday had dismissed the bail pleas of the two journalists of Zee News channel, who were arrested over charges of trying to extort Rs 100 crore from Jindal by manipulating their reportage on the alleged coal block allocation scam.

Sudhir Chaudhary, head of Zee News, and Samir Ahluwalia, head of Zee Business, were arrested late last month on charges of extortion filed by Jindal's company Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL).

They are presently lodged in Tihar jail.
