Govt bans emigration clearance for Libya

New Delhi, July 20 (IBNS) The Government of India announced a temporary ban on emigration clearance for employment in Libya on Tuesday.
A government statement read: “Following non-payment of salary and non conforming to contract conditions by Libyan companies/agents to Indian workers it has been decided by the Protector General of Emigrants/Registering Authority that the Protectors of Emigrants will clear emigration cases only in respect of the cases attested up to 30-06-2010 by the Embassy of India,Tripoli (Libya), following which there will be no further emigration clearance granted to any worker, including nurses, for employment in Libya until further orders.”
