Mumbai, July 20 (IBNS) Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and his 74 MLAs, in judicial custody in Maharashtra, are being taken from Dharmabad to Aurangabad central jail on Tuesday.
The leaders from the bordering state are being moved in a fleet of vehicles and are expected to reach the destination by evening, reports said.
Security deployment has been tightened along the route.
Naidu and 74 other legislators of the Telegu Desam Party were arrested in Dharmabad on Friday (July 16) for violating prohibitory orders and trying to march to Babhli dam.
They had refused to accept bail twice on Saturday and Monday and were remanded in judicial custody till July 26.
Reports from Dharmabad said that the TDP legislators resisted the move to shift them to Aurangabad and police had to apply force to make them board the vehicles.
Naidu has been accused by political parties in Maharashtra of politicizing the Babhli dam issue for electoral gains.
The Babli barrage row between Maharashtra and Andhra is presently being heard in the Supreme Court and the next hearing is scheduled for August 10.
