Durga Puja: Vodafone presents ‘Aagomoni’

Kolkata, Oct 9 (IBNS): Telecom service provider Vodafone India on Monday announced the 11th edition of 'Vodafone Aagomoni', a nightlong musical extravaganza to usher in this year's Durga Pujo along with a host of offers for the Vodafone customers.
According to officials, 'Vodafone Aagomoni' will be held on Sunday at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata onwards featuring performances of some eminent artists like Soumitra Chatterjee, Mamata Shankar, Arpita Chatterjee, Bikram Ghosh, Anupam Roy, Srikanto Acharya, Gargi Roychowdhury, Koneenika Banerjee, Monomoy Bhattacharjee, Raghab Chatterjee, Nipobithi Ghosh, Rajatava Dutta, Rupankar Bagchi, Subhamita Banerjee, Srabani Sen, Soumyajit Das, Sourendra Mullick, Soumili Biswas and many others.
Vodafone Business Head Kolkata and West Bengal Saurav Mukherjee said,"We believe this creates a bonding and maximum engagement with our customers. During Durga Pujo there is an increased buoyancy in Bengal even night time usage also increases."
The performers for the evening specifically created something innovative to cater to the audiences such as 'Aparajita', a recitation/narration on conversation between mother and daughter separated by geographic boundary by Amit Ranjan Biswas featuring Soumitra Chatterjee, Mamata Shankar and Arpita Chatterjee while vocal will be rendered by Paromita Banerjee and Monomoy Bhattacharjee.
Arpita Chatterjee said,"I have never been a part of recitation or narration. This will be a new venture for me and an addition to my venture outs like acting, new album and theater."
Singers Soumyajit Das, Srabani Sen and Sourendra Mullick will present 'You and I a combination of Tagore songs with folk a bit of A.R. Rahman and R.D. Burman.
"Without distorting the Tagore creations, we are experimenting," said Mullick.
To celebrate the special stand alone moments of life, Srikanto Acharya, Raghab Chatterjee and Nipobithi Ghosh will present 'Moments' of togetherness of three friends.
On dancing ground choreographer Arnab Bandopadhyay will showcase 'Love, Peace and Joy' with Soumili Biswas and Koneenika Banerjee.
"I have almost become a stamp for Durga in different channels but this time I'll be performing parts of the Goddess through my dance performance on stage,"gushed Soumili.
The last performance will be a treat for the audiences with Bikram Ghosh taking over the night in to series of "unpredictable" surprizes.
Speaking to IBNS, the percussionist said,"You can only expect unpredictability. It will be a marriage of genres as I am using Dhaks and Bauls to provide a folk feel."
Vodafone also introduced "singer hunt contest" in association with a radio station in Kolkata where one lucky winner get a chance to perform live with Rupankar Bagchi.
The company with about Rs.30,000 crore turn over coincided the announcement of the show with the launching of varied offers to capture the festive boom ranging from SMS Bonus Card to special call charge rates, caller tunes and several gifts.
"These are the offers basically for the loyal customers and our endurance will be to keep the network working perfectly even during the night time,"informed Saurav Mukherjee.
Speaking on Vodafone Aagomoni; he added,"This event is one of Vodafone's special initiatives to engage and touch the lives and hearts of customers in West Bengal. The passes for which are already available at Vodafone stores priced at Rs.40 and Rs.200."
