Preity rides on crest of Heroes

Preity Zinta, seen after an interval, rocks in her new film “Heroes” with a restrained performance.

According to reports, her film with Salman Khan has took a dramatic opening at the box–office, especially in Punjab and all regions of the North.

The film has enjoyed the biggest pre–Diwali opening running to packed houses all over India.

HEROES has had 80–85% collections in multiplexes and 65% in single screens in UP, Punjab and Delhi, 80–85% single screens in Maharashtra and 80% in Gujarat and similar figures coming in from other regions, audience reactions have been very promising.

Priety plays Salman’s widow in the film.
The film is about two brats deciding to hit the road on their motorbikes and their first stop becomes a tiny Punjabi hamlet where they deliver Balkar Singh’s (Salman) last letter to his tractor-driving widow (Preity) who now takes care of the farm as well as the family.

Her lively son Jassi (Dwij Yadav) flies kites and bathes under the tubewell and dreams of joining the army just like his paapaji.

Critics say Preity is well restrained and so is Salman in his brief Sikh role.
